We Have a Winner!!!!!

Tonight was the annual Cub Scout cake bake. The boys and their parents had to make a creative cake to be judged and auctioned off. Last night Jackson and I baked while RJ supervised. We made a cake to look like a magnifying glass looking at red ants. The ants were made out of red almond M&Ms and the handle was made out of Ho Hos. The magnifying glass was just a round cake with white and brown icing. Jack made the cake…..egg shells and all……hee hee….and put the white icing on….I had to do the brown because it was really had for his little hands to maneuver around the outside of the cake……then Jack added the handles and the ants….and I iced on their legs….The cake was SUPER easy to make….Tonight they had three categories for judging…… Best in Holiday, Scouts and Original design……Jack won Best Original design!!!!! Yay……
Tonight Jack also earned his first merit badge…… The Bobcat Badge…..We are so proud of him….He had to memorize and recite the scout code of honor, motto, do the scout hand shake and show how the scouts salute the flag. Rather than just hand out the badges tonight, the boys had to eat through whip cream pies to find the bag with their badges in them! How fun!
I of course was in class and missed all the fun….(I got their 5 minutes after it was all over)….I even left class to try to make it on time…..But my wonderful friend Jenn went as Jack’s mommy #2, took pictures and bought Jack’s cake in the auction…… Enjoy the pictures……..

A/B Honor Roll

RJ and I are so proud of our little Jackson. Today he received an award for having all A's and B's. He has been working very hard and almost had straight A's. He missed it by 4 pts. Here are some pictures from the awards assembly. Enjoy.

Springs Preserve

Tonight we went to the Springs Preserve for there annual holiday display....they have beautiful lights, activities for the kids, and of course Santa....Jack said his favorite part was the train ride...Our friends the Coltharps and the Meldrums joined us and we had a wonderful time.

Meet Buddy

This morning the door bell rang and on the porch we found a Guinea Pig on the porch......Santa delivered him early, according to Santa he was afraid the little guy would get squished on his sleigh on Christmas eve.......Jack has decided on the name Buddy.....He is the sweetest little guy and loves to be held....keep your fingers crossed that RJ is not allergic to him....so far so good....

Xmas Show and the Star......

Well tonight was Jackson's big debut.....Along with some other 1st graders, Jackson sang two songs in the annual Steele E.S. Holiday show. The first song was "Santa Claus is Coming to Town, and "Eight Little Candles." My camera took horrible pictures tonight..... I am sooo sad.....But here is one kind of good one I can share...also included is a picture of Jackson putting the star at the top of our Xmas tree. Enjoy! Just in case you can't tell Jack is in the back second one from left.....

Thanksgiving....

We had a fabulous Thanksgiving...Well, Jack and I did....RJ as usual had to work.....The Brodersen Family invited us over to their house for Thanksgiving and we had so much fun! The most exciting part of the day was when Jack lost his first tooth! We thought for sure he was going to have his two front teeth pulled out....The adult teeth were already cutting through, but the baby ones had not fallen out yet...And when I say he lost his first tooth I mean that literally....as we can't find it...I think he swallowed it when eating lunch....He is spending the night at the Brodersens house and is very excited about the tooth fairy visiting him there.... and the next best part was Jack for the first time in Thanksgiving history ate Thanksgiving food!!! Yay! He ate turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, and biscuits....I was beaming from ear to ear...for those of you who don't know Jack is the world's pickiest eater!!! But he is doing much better and eating Thanksgiving dinner was a huge step!!! Enjoy the pictures and I hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving.....

Cub Scout Campfire Roast

November was full of fun Cub Scout activities and Jack loved every minute of it all.....RJ and I are so happy with the Cub Scout program and are thrilled that Jack is enjoying being a scout......This past Monday night the boys went to the park for a campfire and smores roast....all the boys in Jack's Pack were there (boys ages 6-11).....I have class on Monday night's so I couldn't be there, but RJ took these fabulous pictures for me..... The Saturday before they went to the local police station.....the highlight of the experience was being able to climb in and out of the police care and Paddywagon.....Let's hope that was the last time Jack in either of those!
