Happy New Year

Hope you all have a very Happy New Year...RJ had to work from 4 pm today until 4am tomorrow...then turn around and go back to work at 2pm.... Jack and I were just going to stay home and relax and then at the last minute we went to dinner with Amy at Sammy's Wood Fire Pizza and then we went to Charlease's house for a family party..Lot's of games and yummy food. Jack and I left at 11pm to beat all the drunks driving home at Midnight.. Tomorrow Jack and I are going to go to the movies and then ride our bikes around the neighborhood so Rj can sleep....I leave you with some more of my favorite pics from 2008... Love to all.

A Trip To The Mountains

Today RJ, Jack and I went up to the mountains to go sledding..We had so much fun!! That was the first time for Jack..I think he really enjoyed himself..He cried for 20 minutes down the mountain because we were leaving..I didn't know one child had enough air to cry that long!! Ugh! Just when I was about to drive us all off the side of the mountain...HE FELL ASLEEP! Ahh... PEACE....Anyway aside from the ear piercing crying we had a blast...Jack and I are going to go up again in a day or two.

Favorite picture of 08

I always post my favorite picture of Jack for the year... and the winner is...

I love this picture for many reasons.....

1. It is taken at his favorite spot.. MeMe and Pops ranch in California
2. He is wearing a miss matched outfit that he picked out..all boy..
3. He is with his two favorite things besides MeMe and Pops.. Boogie and Sky..
4. Finally, he is just so darn cute...I feel bad that we live in the city.. the poor kid was meant to live in the country...Maybe in a year or so we will move him to the country where he belongs.....

Merry Christmas...

We had a wonderful Christmas.. It was really nice because my parents were here to celebrate with us... We had a nice relaxing day and it was so much fun watching everything through Jack's eyes..Of course as usual my parents spoiled us all rotten and Santa did too....I was most excited because RJ surprised me with a new pink Beach Cruiser..I rode a mile this morning up to Walgreens and got my dad a paper..It was great until it began to rain on my way back...For dinner we did away with tradition and made it simple..RJ grilled Fillet Mignon and we had a bake potato and Asparagus..Yum!!! It was so nice not to be in the kitchen all day..Well I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and God Bless you all....

Friends of the Year

I usually post person of the week.. Since it is the end of the year I wanted to do person of the year..I couldn't pick just one..I picked my girls...they all deserve person of the year.. and they mean so much to me.....

First, MARYANN....(NO PICTURE AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME)
Maryann was my college roommate and overall best buddy... We are still friends to this day.. I feel very blessed to have her in my life.. We haven't seen each other in a very long time.. She has five kids.. yes five adorable kids..So getting together is a bit difficult..I was honored to be maid of honor in her wedding since she comes from a huge family with lots and lots of cousins...she was a few short weeks from delivering baby #3 when I got married so no traveling to my wedding for her..I appreciate her talking to me on the phone and giving me advice on raising kids..SHE IS HANDS DOWN THE EXPERT...I appreciate Maryann because she was really my first grown up friendship with out any drama....

My Vegas Girls

Kelly,Stephanie,(Me),Heather,Kim

These are my "Vegas Girls" as I call them..They are all in different mommy stages..and I really look to them for guidance and sanity....I have cried on all of their shoulders..Last Saturday Kelly drove all the "Vegas Girls" around so we could drink and forget our daily responsibilities for the night. We all take turns doing that..Hee Hee.

KELLY lives just down the street from us..She has been a lifesaver for me this year..Her three girls babysit for us on a regular basis..Kelly is always available to listen and she has the best advice...We talk on the phone every morning and every evening..and yes we work together..we are pretty much attached at the hip...she calls my husband "Honey"..and RJ calls her is second wife...ahhh one big happy family...

STEPHANIE is the youngest of the bunch..the mother of twins..and the comic relief of our group...of all the Vegas Girls we are the most alike..Very sensitive and we sometimes open our big mouths when we shouldn't..I just love her..

HEATHER is our free spirit..goes along with the flow.. and is up for anything.. We usually do all kid things together like trick or treating and birthday parties...as the oldest of the group she always has great ideas for me and helps me through a lot of things...She doesn't sweat the small stuff and I am trying to follow her example..She is the mother of one little boy and one on the way..

KIM is super mom..two kids..husband who works crazy hours..she is the reason I am getting through RJ's new schedule..We do a lot together and she has a lot of tips for getting through long days and nights with out two parents...

*These girls also get brownie points because they all had other things to do on the day of Jack's birthday party but cancelled to come to his party* I am truly blessed!

Meet Amy

Amy is my Vegas "Jessica" as I call her...Amy loves my son like he was her own... he call her Aunti Amy..During the summer we stayed cool by swimming at her house every weekend..She is always up for a good time.. she is often the friend I escape with when I need a break...she will talk to me about anything at any hour of the day...We love to do the same things and are both Disney freaks..This fall Jack is going to be the ring barer in her sister Stephanie's wedding..RJ and I both love her and feel blessed to have her as a friend...

Meet Jessica Valentine

Jessica and I go all the way back to fourth grade(1984)...We had a very BUMPY beginning...We were friends growing up but not that close..Our friendship really began our freshman year of college..we wrote letters back and forth all year and hung our quite a bit at home that summer..oh the stories we could tell you..That fall her dad died..I was home for a six week break from school.. I spent the entire six weeks at her house..my mom taught us how to sew and we just tried to keep our minds off the tragic loss...the rest is history..we have been like sisters every since..we have been through a lot together and have shared many of life's ups and downs together..we were maid of honors in each others weddings..married 9 months apart..our boys were born four days apart...We share everything.. She even rocks and disciplining Jack when I am done....I miss her so much on a daily basis..hopefully one day my Jack will marry her Cady..This winter I am kidnapping her and we are going on a girls weekend to San Francisco with out husbands and kids....
