Today Jack had his first field trip..They went to an apple orchard...The kids got to pick apples, and tour garden patches..Jack was so excited to ride the bus..RJ said he was a little disappointed that they did not have red apples to pick, just green. Rj got to go on the field trip and he took lots and lots of pictures for me.
The apple orchard also has a pumpkin patch...so next week Jack and I are going to meet his teacher Heather and her son at the Pumpkin patch and pick fresh pumpkins..Enjoy the pictures....

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs...
Dinner and a Sleepover......
As I was leaving school on Friday trying to think of something fun to do with Jack and Mackenzie...I was feeling a little defeated that my original idea of taking them to the circus did not work out...I tried to get tickets online and over the phone and was unsuccessful in my attempts....so I thought I would take them to the circus a little early, go to the box office and try to get tickets...but then I envisioned a sold out sign..sad faces and tears...about that time Jack's teacher stopped me in the hall and invited us to go out to dinner...her hubby is out of town and she wanted to do something fun with her son Dylan...after much discussion....we decided on Joes Crab Shack...Heather and I could sit and relax, enjoy food and wine, while the children played....We had a great time! We had to drag all three children to the car...So Heather and I decided every Friday should be dinner at the Shack...
After dinner Mackenzie came to our house for a sleepover...Jack and Kenzie tried to break the world record for staying up later than any other child..poor babies fell asleep on the couch at 11:30..
As I am writing this blog....RJ is downstairs making them Nachos for breakfast...Yes, I know nasty right? Jack is doing so well in school and RJ promised him Nachos for breakfast on Saturday morning...if he kept up the good work!

Room Mother...I mean Room Dad....
Since I work all day everyday and Jack and I are on the same track...I am unable to be his room mother....Sure I watch Jack's class for a minute or two while his teacher runs to the restroom,etc...I am also in his room a lot borrowing stuff, asking a million questions about Kindergarten and just basically trying to get used to teaching a room full of 5 year olds....I feel blessed to be in the room across from Jack...I love spying on him...However, I don't really get a chance to go in and volunteer and be room mom....so Mrs. Coltharp and I enlisted RJ to be Room Dad......Yesterday was his first official day as Room Dad! He will normally be volunteering on Monday's but since Mrs. Coltharp's aid was out, he came yesterday morning, until he left and went to work at 1:00 p.m. He did such a good job..and when I peaked in to see how he was doing I was amazed...He was helping all the little children at their center do a sequencing activity..lots of glueing and pasting involved...he didn't yell or freak out after having to repeat the directions 500 times...so proud of him!!! Any way I really enjoyed having my whole family at school with me....What a joy! Can't wait until RJ comes back next Monday...I think Mrs. Coltharp mentioned something about painting.........
Here is a picture of RJ before going into Jack's classroom...doesnt' he look thrilled!! :)
